Kindergarten: Masai Necklaces
Kindergarteners learned about traditional African Masai necklaces and discussed the colors and patterns.  They then created their own Masai necklace by first cutting out the inside of a paper plate (I drew a thick black line to follow on each plate), making interesting lines and patterns with crayon, then painting with tempera cakes.  After they dried, they used a hole puncher, pipe cleaners, beads, and a feather to decorate.
